About the Campaign
The School is supported through gifts and grants from foundations, arts councils, individuals and corporations. Starting in August 2005, the School will also be supported through earned income by expanding its offerings to all youth. The annual operating budget is approximately $320,000.
In June of 2003 we acquired a new building, and moved out of our former offices at The Boys and Girls Club.
With the acquisition of this permanent facility, located at 1209 Euclid Avenue, hundreds more Knox County youth are able to participate in our programs. However the new home for our school comes with increased expenses, including significant building purchase and renovation costs.
In order to guarantee our future, an additional $1,300,000 is being raised to cover these costs, above and beyond our operating budget.
The Solution
Music is an important part of a healthy upbringing for our youth. Music provides an academic advantage and should be available to all young people.
