Donations are necessary to sustain our mission of providing quality music education to financially disadvanatged children. The cost of music lessons for one child including an instrument, supplies, and private instruction is $500 per year!
The Joy of Music School provides lessons, instruments, and supplies free of charge to financially disadvantaged children. We not only rely on the generosity of volunteers but also financial supporters to underwrite these costs.
Please consider sponsoring a child for a year of music for $500. This will not only provide her with a weekly lesson, but an instrument she can take home, as well as all of their method books and supplies she'll need to be successful.
We also provide free, general music lessons to agencies in the community that work with similarly situated kids. You can help us support our outreach efforts with a donation as well.

Annual Funding Wish List
2007
$8,000 for Instrument Repairs
Repair of donated and currently used instruments to bring them up to playing quality
About 40 instruments need repair.
$5,000 for Instrument Purchases
Instruments needed include Orff instruments, 6 violins, 2 saxophones, and other instruments as needed.
$8,500 for Sheet Music & Supplies in Main Program
Music Supplies, Equipment, Instrument Repairs, Sheet Music and Method Books
$10,000 for Choral Program
Provides for the cost of staff support, sheet music, performance apparel and supplies for one year.
$20,000 for Building Maintenance
Required repairs and upkeep for day-to-day operations.
$12,000 for Emerald Youth Foundation Program
Two staff members, two days per week reaching out into the community.
$30,000 for Music Education Program
Provides for the cost of teachers materials, sheet music, and supplies for a year.
$43,000 for Boys and Girls Club program
2 staff members, 4 days per week – reaching 8 locations
$75,550 for Staffing Main Location
Provides compensation, taxes and benefits for one year for Director of Music Education and Theory Lab Assistant.
