- The Joy of Music School was founded in 1998.
- More than 100 children receive free weekly private music lessons at The Joy of Music School.
- More than 300 children receive free weekly group general music classes.
- The Joy of Music School is open to Knox County School field trips.
- The Joy of Music School provides free music workshops and classes to a variety of non-profit organizations in the Knoxville area, including the Knox Freedom Institute.
- Before the acquisition of new space in 2003, the School had only 5 teaching rooms that also served as offices and storage space. Now there are 10 music studios, a music theory lab, large group room, music library, and youth waiting area.
- The Joy of Music School is currently conducting a $1,300,000 Capital Campaign to cover the cost of acquisition and renovation of the building that had to be acquired. Renovations include ADA compliance needs (including handicap accessible restrooms and an elevator).
- Renovations to the new School will allow for renting office space, bringing a new source of income.
- The Joy of Music School is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization.
